Castarède Armagnac Appoints 375 Park Avenue Spirits as U.S. Importer

Louisville-based 375 Park Avenue Spiritswas recently named exclusive U.S. importer for the Castarède Armagnac House.
The deal is effective July 1, 2018.
Founded in 1832 during the reign of Napoleon III, Castarède is the oldest registered French Armagnac trading house still in operation, the company says. Led by sixth-generation owner Florence Castarède, whose family was ennobled by King Louis XVIII in 1818, the house is known for its vintage Armagnacs and aged blends.
The Castarède estate is located in the Bas-Armagnac region, and produces “delicate, light and fruity eaux-de-vie thanks to its unique ‘tawny sand’ soil,” the company says. Through their 15th-century cellars, Armagnac Castarède makes available vintage and non-vintage Armagnacs distilled primarily between 1900-2000. The house has one of the largest and oldest collections of vintages available in the U.S., including one from 1893 currently available in a Sazerac cocktail at Revolution in New Orleans.
375 Park Avenue Spirits will carry the full range of the Castarède portfolio including the Blanche (an unaged, clear Armagnac ideal for cocktails), VS 3 Year Old, VSOP 8 Year Old, XO 10 Year Old, Réserve de la Famille ranging from 20 – 30 years old, and the firm’s venerable single vintage selections.
Suggested retail pricing for the portfolio ranges from $39 – $4,500 and will be available nationally.
